Size: 18' tall with fronds up to 6' long
This rare tree fern comes from Papua New Guinea. The trunk can reach heights of 18 feet and 6 inches in diameter.
The fronds are approx. 6 feet long. It grows in the high monsoonal mountains with temperatures 42 to 62 degrees F and can with stand subfreezing temps. C. atrox is comparable to C. cooperi as far as hardiness but likes to be on the dry side in the winter months.
